The Bereavement Ministry is a group of concerned and trained parishioners who have themselves experienced death through the loss of a significant person and who have joined together to created a program called
Living with Loss. Living with Loss is a seven-week bereavement series held twice a year to offer personal support, practical ideas and a spiritual; perspective to help affected persons move through the bereavement process. The program is opn to all who are 18 years and older, no fee just a commitment to attend. Watch the bulletin for announcements of upcoming series. Registration is required.
The Bereavement Ministry also coordinates the
Annual Memorial Mass for all parishioners or their family members who have passed during that year. It is held on the Saturday closest in date to All Souls Day in November. During this moving celebration of those who have gone before us, the reading of the names of parishioners who have passed and a designate family member of the deceased is given a flower to place on the altar as a remembrance of their loved one. A reception follows.
Bereavement Correspondance Ministry is a set of volunteers who write a series of cards at specific times in the year after the death of a loved one. The intent of this part of the ministry to allow the bereaved parishioner to know that they are being prayed and cared for during the difficult first year after a loss.
