Psalms 95: 1-2
The Music Ministry brings richness to the Mass by supporting and encouraging active participation of all assembled through song and response.
There is no higher purpose for music than for prayer. Music conveys emotion, feelings, power, and beauty. We WITNESS to others as we share our own faith and trust through our song. It can change how we feel. Music envelops us. It is WORD and melody, meaning and feeling. It is Spirit-filled and has the power to deeply touch everyone.
As music ministers, we lead the congregation into prayer and WORSHIP through all the individual gifts that make up our choir. Most importantly, as a ministry of the church, we WELCOME all who want to share their gifts and be an integral part of our liturgical celebration. Some reading experience is necessary.
The St. Raphael's Music Ministry welcomes you to sing praise to God either in our adult choir or in the congregation.
Whether you're a veteran of several choirs or brand new to music ministry, whether you're looking for a regular commitment of just a few service opportunities, we have a place for you! We also have several positions open for instrumentalists who might be interested in playing with the choirs. Please feel free to drop in on a rehearsal to get a feel for the group dynamic and the way we shape our ministry. We're always willing to answer any questions.
