Part I:Blessing Basketsare nonperishable traditional Thanksgiving food items for families to cook their own Thanksgiving dinner. Take this list with you to the grocery store!

Canned vegetables (corn and green beans) □ Canned sweet potatoes □ Canned turkey gravy or packaged dry gravy mix □ Boxed stuffing mix (not Pepperidge Farm bags) □ Boxed instant mashed potatoes □ White rice (1 to 2 lb. packages) □ Corn bread mix □ Canned cranberry sauce □ Canned fruit (peaches, pears, fruit cocktail, or applesauce) □ Cake mix and canned frosting □ Jarred baby food (meat, vegetable, starch and cereals)
Collection of nonperishable food items will begin the week of November 1stand conclude on November 22, 2015. Drop off your donation in the school reception area (outside of the indoor Trumpet Room entrance). Please donate enough food for a family of four or six for all items on the list. Questions? Collection of frozen turkeys will occur on Sunday, November 22ndstarting at 8:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. in the Trumpet Room parking lot. Our goal this year is to collect 250 turkeys!
Part II: Thanksgiving Day Luncheon will be prepared in a joint effort of St. Raphael and St. Martin Community
who have no ability to prepare food for themselves or who need companionship on this family holiday. Many are home-bound elderly or homeless members of the community. Please help us with the following cooked items to make this Thanksgiving Day a joyful holiday for our Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
□ Twenty (20) roasted turkeys covered with aluminum foil in a disposable pan
. We will
gladly acceptroasted turkey breasts and drumsticks & thighs if roasting a whole bird is too difficult. We urge donors to roast their birds on Tuesday of the Thanksgiving Day week to allow the bird to be
completely cooled at the time of the drop off day/time.

Drippings from your roasted bird, completely cooled and stored in a
well-sealed container. You can provide turkey gravy if your wish.
□
Baked Thanksgiving-style desserts: traditional pumpkin or fruit pies, frosted cakes or brownies/cookies in a sealed, disposable container.
Collection of roasted turkeys, cooled drippings/gravy (in well-sealed containers), and baked Thanksgiving desserts will occur on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 between 5:00 and 7:00 pm in the Trumpet Room Kitchen.
Drop off your donations at the entrance off of the Trumpet Room parking lot for easier access to the kitchen. Questions can be directed Kathy at720-231-0285.
