Catholics in Annapolis Organized annually by the
Maryland Catholic Conference (MCC), this afternoon event provides the opportunity to meet with our State Representative in Annapolis to discuss legislation before the Maryland General Assembly for the given year. As participants during the meetings, we are given the opportunity to discuss the Catholic position on issues related to Life, Social Services Safety Net, and Catholic Education and inquire how representatives intend to vote on said issues. As part of all Catholics responsibility to Faithful Citizenship, we invite parishioners to join us on this evening. In September 2018, MCC established a volunteer position at the parish level called a
Parish Legislative Ambassador (PLA). The PLA communicate with MCC on a regular basis to prepare for parish level activities before the Annual General Assembly Session. From monthly conference calls, they share strategies for parish level education and letter or post-card campaigns to district legislators.
